2019 SCMA AWARDS PRESENTED DURING ANNUAL CONFERENCE
IN FORT WORTH, TX ON AUGUST 22, 2019

 

The Awards Luncheon and SCMA Membership Meeting took place on Thursday, August 22, 2019. During the Luncheon Awards Ceremony and SCMA Members Meeting, the following awards were presented:

OUTSTANDING LARGE MEMBRANE PLANT AWARD:

  • Tom Harpool Water Treatment Plant in Aubrey, TX, was presented with this year’s Outstanding Large Membrane Plant Award. The award recognizes an outstanding water/wastewater facility that uses any membrane technology with high efficiency in an environmentally friendly approach. The award is inscribed: “in recognition of outstanding plant operations & maintenance and exemplary membrane treatment plant performance.”

FIRST RUNNER UP BEST TASTING MEMBRANE WATER IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL REGION:

  • Quail Valley Utility District received the First Runner Up Best Tasting Membrane Water in the South Central Region Award following the Best Tasting Membrane Water Competition held during the Annual Conference.

FIRST PLACE BEST TASTING MEMBRANE WATER IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL REGION:

  • The Upper Trinity Regional Water District was presented with this year’s Best Tasting Membrane Water in the South Central Region Award. The award recognizes the winner of the Best Tasting Membrane Water Competition held during the Annual Conference.

VENDOR APPRECIATION:

  • DCS Engineering, Inc. was presented with the Vendor Appreciation Award in recognition of dedicated support in the growth and development of Operators through the South Central Membrane Association.

EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD:

  • Darrell Byrer, American Water Chemicals, Inc., received the award with special thanks and recognition of his aboveand beyond level of support, contributions, and services by providing and promoting training to Operators and Members through the MOC Courses and Workshops held during the year.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD:

  • Robby Isbell received the award in recognition of his dedicated leadership, support and contributions to the growth and development of the South Central Membrane Association. In addition, for serving on the Board of Directors from 2014 to 2019, serving as the SCMA Conference Planning Committee (CPC) Chair 2016-2018 and Finance Committee Chair 2015-2016. His hard work and commitment is recognized and appreciated by SCMA.

PRESIDENTIAL AWARD:

  • Roy Daly, LG Water Solutions, received the award in recognition of his enthusiastic leadership, tireless support and dedication to SCMA, for serving as Co-Chair of the Conference Planning Committee and Chair of the Membership Committee. His hard work and commitment is recognized and appreciated by SCMA.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:

  • Robby Isbell, received the award in recognition of his exemplary commitment and enthusiasm, SCMA has established the Robby Isbell Membrane Operator Training Fellowship Fund to support membrane plant operator training. In appreciation of his outstanding leadership and service, SCMA honors him with a Lifetime Membership. His dedication and positive impact is recognized and appreciated by SCMA.
 

The South Central Membrane Association is a nonprofit organization formed in 1997 as a regional affiliate of the American Membrane Technology Association covering Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

SCMA’s goal is to improve the quality of water supplies through desalting, reuse, and other water sciences, through focused activities, including: Facility design, Operator training and certification, Research and development, Equipment manufacturing, Operation and maintenance, Environmental regulations and Legislation.

SCMA is governed under by-laws by a Board of Directors consisting of representatives of state water agencies, water utilities using membrane filtration, and engineering consulting firms. SCMA members include: Organizations that supply water to community water systems or their users, Companies or organizations that furnish equipment, material or professional services used by community or industrial water system in their projects or operations, Individuals interested in SCMA objectives and programs and Students.
