The South Central Membrane Association is a nonprofit organization formed in 1997 as a regional affiliate of the American Membrane Technology Association covering Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Our goal is to improve the quality of water supplies through desalting, reuse, and other water sciences, through focused activities, including:
- Facility design
- Operator training and certification
- Research and development
- Equipment manufacturing
- Operation and maintenance
- Environmental regulations
- Legislation
SCMA is governed under by-laws by a Board of Directors consisting of representatives of state water agencies, water utilities using membrane filtration, and engineering consulting firms. Our members include:
- Organizations that supply water to community water systems or their users
- Companies or organizations that furnish equipment, material or professional services used by community or industrial water system in their projects or operations
- Individuals interested in SCMA objectives and programs
- Students
