The Texas Water Development Board seeks proposals for brackish groundwater desalination demonstration projects. Projects should provide tangible examples of the use of water desalination technologies and concentrate management strategies that can serve as replicable models for implementing small scale brackish groundwater desalination projects, showcase technological advances and/or promising strategies to increase the efficiency of waste desalination and concentrate management processes, and/or assist with the training of operators of desalination facilities. November 2006: Grants available for brackish groundwater desal demonstration projects in Texas
TWDB is requesting proposals for brackish groundwater demonstration projects to be funded as part of the agency's Brackish Groundwater Desalination Initiative. Proposals are due Dec. 7; a pre-submittal meeting is scheduled for 10 am Oct. 24 in Room 513-F, Stephen F. Austin Building, 1700 North Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas. -

September 2006: SCDA is now the South Central Membrane Association
The new name - approved by members at the Sept. 14 meeting in Fort Worth - better reflects the focus of the organization, which is dedicated to supporting all types of membrane technology in water treatment operations.Members also elected a Board of Directors and accepted the by-laws.
