SCMA was pleased to present its 2010 Spring Conference, which was held in conjunction with the TWUA Annual School, Feb. 22-24, 2010, at the Omni Bayfront Hotel.
During the general sessions, attendees heard informative presentations on TCEQ regulations for membrane plants, membrane technology basics, nomenclature, troubleshooting, cleaning, autopsies, data collection & normalization, post treatment, concentrate recovery, forward osmosis, and case studies. Attendees also split into two concurrent tracks, with one group attending an operator panel and another hearing presentations on funding options for membrane plants and integrated wind-water desalintation systems.
In addition to a wide variety of educational presentations, attendees visited San Patricio Municpal Water District's Plant "C" in Ingleside for a tour and training. Participants engaged in hands-on activities such as pinning, and learned about the plant's membranes, computer systems, water bottling, and more. Many thanks to Don Roach and the plant staff for the opportunity to visit their facility.
